Meet Our Management Team

  • Rick Frisbie

    OWNER

    Rick spent the majority of his career in many capacities at San Mateo based Franklin Templeton Investments. After, he was the CEO of a FinTech startup. He is currently in charge of corporate development for a military technology company, and works with many veterans. He has his MBA from Georgetown University. 

    Rick met his wife Alexa at the University of Virginia. They were married in San Francisco. She was his heroine.

  • Susie Cresci

    DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

    Susie has her teaching credential with a Cross-cultural, Language, and Academic Development emphasis. She has experience in many different educational settings. Susie was the first person hired to teach at Workshop in Fall of 2009, and has served as site director at various sites. She is in charge of recruiting talented teachers and site directors, among other responsibilities, in her position as Director of Human Resources.

  • Corina Outten

    DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

    Corina has vast experience in the field of Early Childhood Education. She’s been with Workshop since 2016 and has served as a teacher, Site Director, Program Manager and now Director of Operations. She is motivated to implement her expertise to help guide classroom practices and encourage student growth. It’s important to Corina to provide a safe and creative learning environment that recognizes the diverse learning styles of students.

  • Lynn Fischbach

    DIRECTOR OF BILLING

    Lynn graduated from Chico State University with a degree in Sociology. After raising her son, she realized she wanted to continue to work in a position supporting children. Lynn is responsible for billing and family payments for Workshop Education.

  • Julie Mathiasen

    SITE DIRECTOR / TEACHER
    FARALLONE VIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

    Julie is a child educator and has a passion for providing rich, stimulating activities engaging the whole child to learn important life skills. She loves to teach kids about plants, nutrition and health, ecology and the natural world around them. She has lived, worked and played on the Coastside since 1983. Her formal education is in Horticulture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

  • Princess Parangan

    TEACHER
    FARALLONE VIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

    Princess dreams of being a school teacher, and she wishes to gain experience teaching all grade levels. She has been tutoring since she was 15, then switched to teaching at a private elementary school in 2018, and finally found her home at Workshop Education! Princess was previously Site Director for Roy Cloud in Redwood City and is excited to work at Farallone View to help students understand the joy of learning!

  • Katy Katzenberger

    SITE DIRECTOR / TEACHER
    HATCH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

    Katy has been a Site Director at Workshop for more than four years and enjoys helping children confidently reach their creative potential. She has extensive experience working with elementary and middle school students and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Katy has lived in the Bay Area for thirty years and loves hiking, writing, learning about local history, and spending time with family and friends.

  • Alex Baumgarten

    TEACHER HATCH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

    Alex is a Half Moon Bay local and recently returned to the Coastside from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She currently coaches girls volleyball and also guides field trips at the Heal Project Farm. She strives to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment for kids of all ages. Alex has been involved in the entire Workshop community by subbing at all of our schools last year, and is now excited to join Hatch this school year as a teacher.

  • Mary Dournaee

    SITE DIRECTOR / TEACHER NORTH STAR ACADEMY

    Mary is a Bay Area native born in San Francisco and raised in San Mateo, CA. As an experienced STEM educator, she strives to build innovative and creative learning opportunities for her students. Mary has experience as a teacher, program manager and director of education for various schools, tutoring centers, and after-school programs within the Bay Area. Mary’s hobbies include hiking, gardening, curriculum writing, and developing websites. She is also a wife and mother of two inquisitive, energetic children.

  • Kyra "Kay" Harris

    TEACHER NORTH STAR ACADEMY

    Kyra "Kay" Harris served as a PE teacher for about six years in the Redwood City School District before becoming a paraeducator in March of 2023. The RCSD community knows her as "Coach Kay". Kay was born and raised in East Palo Alto. She graduated from Woodside High School and also attended an HBCU at Langston University in Oklahoma. However, she is a true Californian at heart and came back to the Bay Area. Kyra loves working with children and serving in her community. She has a 10 year old who is almost taller than her!

  • Elise "Eme" Eisenman

    SITE DIRECTOR / TEACHER
    WOODSIDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

    Elise Marie Eisenman, better known as Eme, has been teaching for about 15 years, primarily preschool age children. Prior to teaching, Eme was a graphic designer. Combining her two passions, she finds great joy in helping spark creativity in children. She also understands the importance of helping families in a complex world. Eme has two dogs Rocky and Mattie, and a rabbit named Gus.

  • Vanessa Luna

    TEACHER WOODSIDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

    Vanessa is a Bay Area native with a passion for early childhood education. Growing up in a big family, Vanessa has always been surrounded by kids, and that inspired her to work in childcare for several years. Each job has given her the opportunity to empower youth by teaching them the values of unity, respect, and curiosity.
