Alexa Frisbie was a beloved life-long teacher, who worked across all aspects of the educational system. She held a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Virginia. Before founding Workshop Education in 2009, Alexa trained teachers, and created award winning curriculum for NASA and UC Berkeley, among others. Alexa taught first through fifth grades at private and public schools in San Francisco. She won awards for leadership in education, and published articles on exemplary practices in education. Alexa's acclaimed book, Secrets of Your Child's Education, was published just prior to her passing in January 2021. This book delivers practical solutions for parents to ensure their children experience the fulfilling classroom experiences they deserve.
Alexa's vision was to constantly improve the child and parent experience to build a connected community of learners. Workshop continues to exist to honor the legacy of its founder, Alexa Frisbie.
Director of Workshop
Susie Cresci has her teaching credential with a Cross-cultural, Language, and Academic Development emphasis. She taught elementary students at Immaculate Heart of Mary, Oak Knoll Elementary School and Serendipity. Susie is tri-lingual in Spanish, Portuguese and English. Susie started working in Human Resources at the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay when it first opened. Susie became part of the team that hired and trained over four hundred employees in this new five-star caliber hotel. Susie also has experience working in a home health care agency where she managed, coordinated, and staffed client cases. Susie was the first person hired to teach at Workshop in Fall of 2009, and has served as site director at various sites.
Susie is in charge of all day to day management, and recruiting talented teachers and site directors, among other responsibilities, in her position as Director of Workshop.
Director of Programs
Joanne is a Native Californian and has lived in the Bay Area for most of her life. She has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Family Relations from CSU, Chico. She has been an Instructional Aide, a substitute teacher and a teacher in Adult Education. Most recently she was a Case Manager and Career Counselor for a non-profit. She takes pride in her people skills and organization skills. She brings those to her new position as Director of Programs. She loves baking, traveling and riding her bike with her husband along the Coastal Trail in Half Moon Bay.
Joanne is responsible for making sure emergency preparedness, and best teaching practices are implemented well at all of our sites.
Corina grew up on the coastside and was previously a student herself at Farallone View School. She has been a teacher and site director with Workshop since 2016. She holds a California real estate license and decided to pursue to her passion to be a childhood educator. Corina comes from vast experience of working with children prior to her real estate career – she was a swim instructor at La Petite Baleen Swim School, a private nanny for 3 children in Menlo Park and also volunteered her time to Coastside Child Development Center. It’s important to Corina to provide a safe and creative learning environment that recognizes the diverse learning styles of students. She’s motivated to use her skills and experiences towards childhood development to encourage growth, both socially and academically. Corina feels fortunate to live the coastside lifestyle, spending her free time appreciating and enjoying the outdoors. She also loves to cook, garden, create and learn.
Corina is responsible for making sure all sites are being held to the highest standards.
